Alessandro Agenllini Singapore Part 2

Another email from Alessandro dropped last Friday. If I remember correctly, I might have drop Alessandro an email and Charlotte a message from LinkedIn both at the same time. I think that since emails can easily be pushed down by other emails, dropping a message on LinkedIn might be better and faster. But now that I look back at the email that I sent out, maybe it is the way that I word it which caused some confusion.

I wrote that if he could kindly take a look at one of the projects from my portfolio and give me some feedback on it but I did not mention if we could jump on a call and talk through it or anything. So he literally just gave me some feedback through email and that's it. Still, I thanked him again because with another perspective, I could work on the project again.

In his email, he noted that 'it feels like a generic environmental awareness' campaign and that it does not feel very Extinction Rebellion. Looking back at it again, I do agree with his feedback. Imagine if I am working at H&M and I just placed a '50% off Black Friday sale' and the next day, I see a disruptive label pasted over my Black Friday sale, that is going to piss me off. It is not going to make me 'shift perception' and look at them in a positive light. I might just hate them more. He didn't mention much about my portfolio in general. I feel it is because the stuff that I have up there is too little to say much. I want to look at an art director's portfolio and look at the way how they show their stuff. What do they put inside their portfolio? Should we have a good mix of our passion project and our project work? Do we include some graphic work like branding and whatnot to better show the art direction? As Jonathan previously said, I will research and find someone who can inspire me.

The only one that I have seen is Woody from BLJ. I say his passion project is really cool. The whole website is just so cool. He enjoys doing character design and it turned into a children's colouring book.
